May 5th is the Feastday of Blessed Edmund Rice.
This year (2013) May 5th falls on the Sixth Sunday of Easter and this takes liturgical precedence. Private commemorations of the day may take place.
Novena begins on Saturday April 27th 2013.
175th Anniversary

St Mary's Cathedral, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Mass will be celebrated by Bishop of Kerry, Dr Bill Murphy. Afterwards, a commemorative monument will be unveiled at Scoil Mhuire na Mainistreach, New Road, Killarney.
2nd Ruah International Gathering 2013

The 2nd International Ruah programme takes place in Ireland, the home of Edmund Rice and Nano Nagle next summer.

Mission Sunday TV Mass
Sunday 20th October 2013
The annual Mission Sunday Mass will be broadcast from RTE (Ireland's State broadcaster).
The Presentation Brothers will host this year's televised Mass.
Presentation Brothers Year of Faith Holy Land Pilgrimage
26th October - 2nd November 2013.
“Five gospels record the life of Jesus. Four you will find in books and one you will find in the land they call holy. Read the fifth gospel and the world of the four will open to you.” - Bargil Pixner, Scripture Scholar.
To mark the Year of Faith the Presentation Brothers will make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from 26th October to 2nd November 2013. (This is the mid-term break in Ireland.)
The pilgrimage will include visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Mount of the Beatitudes, Capernaum, River Jordan, Mount Tabor, Dead Sea, Jericho, and several sites in Jerusalem (Mount of Olives, Gethsemene, Holy Sepulchre church, Western Wall, Rock of Calvary) such as the. Fr Patrick Relihan of the diocese of Cloyne will be the pilgrimage chaplain and Sr Anne O'Leary PBVM will be the spiritual director.
The cost is €1,550 per person sharing (€310 single supplement) for 3 nights in Galilee and 4 nights in Jerusalem. A deposit of €200 is required before February 1st 2013 to book a place.
