Inner City Community Day at Mount Sion

The second annual Inner City Community Day at Mount Sion in Waterford has been hailed as a great success by the event coordinator, Br Kevin Mascarenhas. "It all went very well and it was wonderful to see so many families having a fun day out," he said. The event, targeted at families in the inner city area of Waterford, featured face painting, music, dancing and plenty of entertainment all free of charge.

Br Andrew Hickey is new Province Leader for Anglo-Irish Province

Brother Andrew Hickey has been appointed as the new Province Leader for the Anglo-Irish Province of the Presentation Brothers. He succeeds Brother Walter Hurley who was elected to the Congregation Leadership Team at the Congregation Chapter in July. The Province includes communities in Ireland and England as well as a mission in Slovakia.

World Youth Day Updates

The 26th World Youth Day is underway in Madrid. Hundreds of thousands of young people have gathered in the Spanish capital for the celebration which will reach a climax on Sunday with a Mass attended by over one million people. Pope Benedict has now arrived and has been greeted by huge crowds, confetti and cheers. You can follow the World Youth Day events in several ways.

First Professions take place in Dublin
