Welcome to Mardyke House
We are fortunate to have beautiful Mardyke House, in the heart of Cork City, Ireland, as home to the Community of Brothers, who engage in evangelisation and faith development with young adults. As well as serving as our base, we offer space within the house as the ideal setting for workshops, seminars, day retreats, training days, prayer group meetings and more. With its welcoming and peaceful atmosphere and beautiful Edward Rice Garden, the centre is a wonderful place for reflections, learning and conversation.
Mardyke House houses a Community of 5 Presentation Brothers today, while it is also the base for our L.E.A.F. Project and a ‘Discernment and Formation Community’. In order to discern their vocation in life and to grow in the formation of their faith, two young men live with the Brothers as part of the L.E.A.F Project.

An Ideal Multi-Purpose Venue
Mardyke House is divided into two sections – the original Community house and the new Edmund Rice Centre.
Community house
The original Community house contains the chapel of Our Lady of the Presentation – a beautiful space within the heart of the house that is used daily for prayer and weekly Mass. There are two conference rooms to the front of the house, and these can be used for multiple purposes. The Br. Matthew Feheney Room is equipped with a kitchenette and tea/coffee station, a projector screen and large table with chairs, while the Dr. F.J. Steele room has a projector screen and boardroom table with chairs.
Edmund Rice Centre
The Edmund Rice centre comprises a lecture theatre which can hold up to 40 people and is equipped with a new interactive screen – making it the perfect venue for presentations, videos, photo collages and more. Also within the Centre is Br. Stephen O’Gorman Room which has its own kitchenette and is ideal for hosting larger groups.
